Description

Course participants will have a greater understanding of our UGA student population in terms of demographics, majors, counties, states, and countries of origin, and financial aid reliance. They will learn the basics of the most common advising theories and how these theories can impact students in the rapidly changing academic and economic environment. Course participants will consider which advising approaches work best with a given student based on the students background and academic interests. Students will learn basic advising ethics and the importance of keeping good advising notes.
