Are you interested in understanding and supporting students to enable their success? Do you want to avoid the pitfalls of mentoring relationships? In this interactive session, join leaders from Student Affairs and the Graduate School Mentoring Academy for an immersive look at students and student life at UGA. Discover the backgrounds, experiences, and mindsets students bring to campus and how they interact in our community. Learn about UGA resources and research-based strategies to support student needs, well-being, and learning in and out of your class. Explore creative ways to engage with diverse students. Learn the fundamentals of effective mentoring relationships and appropriate boundaries. Acquire a template for mentoring contracts, learn steps to align mentor-mentee expectations, and boost skills in your online mentoring. At this Keys to UGA: New Faculty Academy event, you will garner resources, techniques, and information to enhance your interactions with students and enrich the academic excellence of all your learning environments. While the session is part of the New Faculty Academy, we welcome all faculty and staff to this event.
