During a tornado warning, building occupants should seek shelter
on the lowest level of the building in an area devoid of windows and
high ceilings.
Tornado shelter areas
The 1st floor areas, away from windows are safest and you should go there if time and available space permit.
1st floor - All space from the double wooden doors by room 143 down to the hallway outside of rooms 153 and 155. This is by far the safest shelter area in the building, as it is below grade. The room 120 auditorium is structurally identical to surrounding first floor space and lacks windows. It is a safe location in a tornado.
2nd floor - Both restrooms, classroom 238 and the interior hallway between rooms 235 and 271
3rd floor - No safe space, evacuate to the 1st floor, preferably using the stairs.
4th floor - No safe space, evacuate to the 1st floor, preferably using the stairs.
